All are welcome to receive a lunch on Saturday from 4pm to 5pm (or until food runs out). We are always at the Church Grotto, at the side of the church, it is our small Parking Lot.
Thank you Celeste, the Confirmation class, Geraldine, Allerga, Maria Diaz, Jan, Jack who is 4 years old and his family, The SVDP Society, Rosemary Crump and Mr. Rincon for providing the meal for our Saturday guests. Thank you to all the youth volunteers for sharing their time each Saturday . A very special Thank you to Steven who is Jean Guelpa's 5 year old nephew and her niece Jennifer for seeing to it that our children guests had Easter Baskets filled to the brim with goodies.
St. Agatha's Hands Are Reaching Everywhere and hands are reaching back with love, encouragement and support for our outreach ministry. So many have lifted S.H.A.R.E. up in prayer, given monetary donations, supplies and time. You have not only given and touched our guests and ministry with hope, your kind acts and deeds are an inspiration to others who hear and read about your deeds. Please continue to do acts of kindness each day. YES, we can make kindness contagious!!! Give away that smile again this week and watch your investment grow. Who's spirit has been raised by the smile of a stranger? Talk to each other about it. Do give back and pass on your blessings.
May the risen Christ who is rich in mercy cover you and all those you love and hold dear with His abundant blessings.
Thank you.
Blessings,
The S.H.A.R.E Ministry
Preparing for our Christmas Day Dinner
Please check the list of supplies that are needed for the dinner and sign up. This is an opportunity to share back a portion of the blessing that God has given you this year with someone who is in need. Budgets are hurting for many this season. There are so many ways other than monetary to share back. The first way is through prayer, pray that we are able to continue to give hope to our guests in need, Distributing flyers to those who you meet who need a place to celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas. Come sort clothing, wrap gifts, help clean the kitchen, help decorate the hall, move out the clothing at 7am on Christmas morning, serve on Christmas day in an area that you are needed. For today day give your smile away.
Thank you
May God continue to bless you
and all those you love and hold dear.
Blessings,
Margie for The S.H.A.R.E Ministry

PRAISE THE LORD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW!!!!!
With the Grace and blessings from God we served over 1000 dinners on Christmas day in our hall to those who GOD send to celebrate the Birthday of His son JESUS . Our guests started to line up at 7 AM, at 9 AM the line was beyond the PC. The flow of our guests continued to 3 PM. For those who came to serve did you notice the calmness that seemed to be over the dinner this year. We know that Jesus was present!!!! We had an infant get locked in the car. Through the grace of God, that worked through Ashley, Eddie and Fernando the baby was okay, he smiled, laughed and played until the car door was opened. God truly was there all day with us!!! Did you feel His spirit?
Thank you to Sister Karen for allowing the dinner to continue this year. Thank you Sherrill and Michelle for announcing and making our needs known to our parish family.
We thank you all our parish family for your out pouring of support to our S.H.A.R.E MINISTRY. Your donations, prayers, love and support have touched our souls and stimulated the God in us to continue to reach out and touch and serve the needy in our community. Did you see the hope in our guests faces as they left from our hall. Some came in with heads hung low and seemed down in the face, when they left their heads were held high and there were smiles on their faces.
That's what your faith and works did for someone that you may never meet again on your journey. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME, ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD.
Thank you Choir for sharing your gift of music with our guests. They said that really made it seem like Christmas for them. You cared about them and showed it. PRAISE GOD!!
How about the Santa area? Much thanks to Gloria for all her work in making sure that Santa arrived and had presents for all the children. She also made sure that all the children had a picture taken with Santa. Gloria had a new crew to decorate this year. Well done Hutch, his family, Michelle and her crew and Azalie. Special thank you to Santa and his elves.
This year, we had the youth from the parish and from Stella Academy volunteer to assist during the week with gift wrapping. Gabriella and Michael did an out standing job. Gabriella completed her hours then came back to volunteer on Christmas eve and Christmas day. If you notice the bulletin boards in the hall those were done by Gabriella. Rachel, Letty and her family, Mildred, Sharon Ana, Carol, Celeste, Dan, Birtha, Natalie and her friends, Jan, Diane and the youth did the wrapping of the gifts this year. THANK YOU.
Kirlin took her vacation again this year to spend time folding, sorting and preparing the used items. She spent endless hours sometimes alone doing this. Special thanks, to Paula, Rachel, Sharon, Louise, Senor and Senora Escobar and Michael for helping. Kirlin is making a career change in 2008 and she will not be able to continue volunteering at Christmas with S.H.A.R.E. WE WILL NEED SOMEONE TO STEP UP TO VOLUNTEER IN IN THIS AREA.
Celeste organized and distributed the grocery giveaway. Letty organized the gift and toiletry table giveaways. This was not easy but they with their crew did an excellent job. Thank you.
Azalie and her kitchen crew are the heart beat of the dinner. Ricky again came in from Georgia to spend the time with his brother Eddie and family and he took time out with his son to share time with us cooking and preparing the meal. Lou also came back to carve the hams and serve. Muriel started carving the turkeys on Sunday and never stopped until Monday late PM, then she helped serve the meal on Christmas Day. Muriel has carved the turkeys and hams since 1980. Virginia Moore is our gravy lady, she gets in there and poof there is the gravy. This year Fran and her husband Nick came at 7AM and worked to prepare the meal and serve from the steam table. We had a new comer Marion join the kitchen crew this year. Azalie started to volunteer in 1980 in grade school. She now is the heart of the kitchen not only does she organize the flow of the food she makes the dressing and yams too. Thanks to O'Dell and Donal who washed what seemed to be an endless pile of dishes.
WHAT A CLEAN UP CREW!! THIS WAS THE VERY FIRST TIME THAT WE ALL WENT HOME IN DAY LIGHT. GOD SURELY SENT YOU ALL.
Enrique, Jose, Ana, Emmanuel, Adriana, Deacon Ricardo, Fina, Dianne, Rosie and Rosemary thank you for your all that you do to make our Christmas dinner such a success.
To all of you who served on Christmas Day we are deeply grateful to you. We can do all the preparation but without you we could not have served our guests. Thank you for sharing, caring and giving our guests HOPE.
If we omitted anyone remember GOD WILL NOT FORGET YOUR ACTS OF FAITH AND YOUR WORKS AND THAT IS WHAT MATTERS.
Our wish for you is that the God in you continues to guide you on your journey. Please continue that spirit that God has stimulated in you during His season and reach out and touch those in need each day.

The KWANZAA celebration held at St Agatha’s has been cancelled this year due to lack of interest and support shown by the parish community over the pass few years. There are many KWANZAA celebrations and activities scheduled in the community for December 26-January1. Pease check the local community newspaper or go on line and look under Los Angeles KWAANZA celebrations. This is a non religious celebration in the African American Community. The seven principles are readily adaptable to anyone’s daily life.
Martin Luther King Jr Celebration: Sunday, January 20, 2008. The annual MLK Jr Breakfast: January 21, 2008. Tickets will be available early January.

Since Kwanzaa is relatively a new holiday, you, your family and your community can use your creativity and imagination in the way the holiday is observed. Choose an area in your home where you can set up a Kwanzaa altar or table. Decorate it in the same spirit as other holidays you celebrate. Create posters and banners to hang on the walls, and African sculptures or other artwork. Many crafts and decorations can be created by the children or the home to be used in your Kwanzaa display.
When setting up the Kwanzaa table, first cover the table with a black or green tablecloth. Then place the Mkeka (mat) in the center of the table. Add the Kinara (candleholder) containing the MIshumaa Saba (seven candles). The colors of the candles are red, green, and black which are the colors of the Bendera (or African Flag). The black candle is placed in the center of the Kinara. The 3 red candles are placed on the left side of the Kinara and the 3 green candles on the right.
The Mazao (fruit and vegetables) are placed in a bowl or basket and then added to the table. One ear of Muhindi (corn), for each child in the family, is placed on the Mkeka. If there are no children then one ear of corn form of books, videos, or other educational resources are added. Heritage symbols such as African sculptures or other artwork can be added to enhance the display.
On the wall behind the table, hang posters, banners, and pictures, either purchased or created by the children of the family. You can also hang a Bendera, African flag, containing the colors black (the people), red (continuing struggle), and green (the future).
This page will have important information for you, keep coming back.
