St. Vincent de Paul Society to honor athlete and actor at gala
At its 100th anniversary celebration on Feb. 16, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul's Council of Los Angeles will be honoring two men for their work in the community - Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster and former major leaguer Rick Monday and Academy Award winning actor Louis Gossett, Jr. Funds raised will go toward expanding the Council's summer camp for disadvantaged children. SVDP ST. AGATHA CONFERENCE will like to thank all the families that participated in adopting families during the Christmas Holiday, the families that help us financially, with gift certificates and with the angels.
This past Chirstmas there were 53 Families adopted of these 20 were single parent families.
There were 150 children and teenagers adopted, 29 families were adopted by parishioners and 24 were able to be adopted due to the monetary donations, the gift certificates and the angels that we received.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR KIND HEART AND MAY GOD POUR HIS MANY BLESSINGS ON YOU AND YOUR LOVE ONES ALWAYS.

When you adopt a family your responsibility is to buy Christmas gifts to a family and gift cards from a supermarket. Please sign up beginning next Sunday, November 25th after mass, where we will also be distributing names of the families. . If you would like to help with Adopt-a-Family or if you have any questions, please call Gloria Walker. If you cannot adopt a family we also accept gifts cards from supermarkets and department stores.
Please visit our Angel Tree beginning next Sunday after all the Masses. Pick an angel and bring a Christmas toy or other gift appropriate for the child described on your angel for needy children in our parish and neighborhood. Last days to bring and angel is December 15th and 16th. If you have any questions, please contact Gloria Walker.
